The expansion will further streamline its medical supply and lower costs, the Salt Lake City-based health system said in a Nov. 9 news release. The Supply Chain Center currently sits on 24 acres, or more than 1 million square feet, and is intended to house bulk orders in case of emergencies, such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
“You can’t have a model health system without a model supply chain organization,” Bert Zimmerli, executive vice president and CFO of Intermountain, said in a statement.
