In light of recent issues with contaminated endoscopes being linked to the spread of dangerous pathogens, the PD-Vision helps ensure endoscopes are cleaned properly and efficiently. The tool creates a database of images from endoscope cleaning sinks that is searchable by time and date, or scope ID. The images could prove useful in the event of an audit or process review.

While manual cleaning in a sink is arguably the most important step in the process of disinfecting reusable endoscopes, it is also one of the least documented. The device allows for a high level of monitoring, making it convenient for providers and administrators to ensure high standards of disinfection.

The device is an expansion of the company’s mobile app The Observer, which provides timely data and alerts on device status.
