The wrap, used to protect operating room instruments, is typically thrown away after use. Nurse anesthetist Nicole Hubbard, CRNA, reportedly got the idea to use the material — which is waterproof and conserves heat — to make sleeping bags from social media.
As of Oct. 28, Tampa General employees have made about 100 sleeping bags to give to the homeless population in the area.
