FDA approves generic version of Cymbalta: 3 things to know

The Food and Drug Administration on Monday approved Solco Healthcare’s duloxetine delayed-release capsules.

Here are three things to know.

  1. Duloxetine is used to treat major depressive disorder, general anxiety disorder and fibromyalgia.
  1. The drug represents a generic version of Eli Lilly’s Cymbalta.
  1. Both brand name and generic sales of duloxetine hit $484.4 million for the 12 months ending in June 2017, according to data from QuintilesIMS.
