Here are four things to know.

1. Odactra is a once-daily tablet used to treat allergies associated with house dust mites in patients 18 to 65 years old.

2. Patients place the drug under their tongue and let it dissolve. Odactra is the first allergen extract approved by the agency for administration under the tongue, according to a news release.

3. The drug exposes patients to house dust mite allergens, gradually training their immune systems to make nasal and eye allergy symptoms less frequent or severe.

4. Catalent Pharma Solutions Limited manufactures Odactra for Merck, Sharp & Dohme Corp. — a subsidiary of Merck and Co.
