DOJ raids Perrigo headquarters in drug price investigation

Federal authorities from the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division raided generic drugmaker Perrigo's Allegan, Mich.-based headquarters as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged price-fixing, reports USA Today.

Perrigo — which manufactures generic drugs, over-the-counter medications and baby formulas — confirmed the search Tuesday.

The DOJ is investigating several generic drugmakers, including Perrigo, for allegedly colluding to set prices artificially high, according to USA Today.

"As has been previously disclosed by a number of companies, the antitrust division has been looking at industrywide pricing practices," Perrigo said in a statement. "The company is taking this investigation seriously and is cooperating with the appropriate authorities."
