DHL Supply Chain has launched a logistics solution designed to centralize inventory and medical support activities for U.S. health systems and connect supplies to points of care.
The offering uses consolidated service centers to store, prepare, manage and distribute drugs, supplies and equipment, according to a Sept. 24 news release. Dedicated transportation and final-mile delivery connect the centers with hospitals, outpatient facilities, physician practices and other care sites.
DHL’s warehouse management system tracks inventory and product movement across health system networks, while data and predictive analytics support inventory positioning and replenishment. Health systems can also incorporate AI, robotics and automation into the consolidated service centers.
