California-made N95 mask loses US emergency use approval

A division of the CDC said May 4 it has revoked the emergency use authorization for Plastikon Industries' N95 mask. 

Plastikon's PLASMA N95-01 mask can no longer be made, sold or distributed. Plastikon is based in Hayward, Calif. 

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, part of the CDC, said it conducted tests of the masks and found they failed to meet the filter efficiency requirements.
