After Mr. Trump said drug companies were “getting away with murder” during a Wednesday press conference, Sen. Sanders posted a video on his Facebook page in which he agreed with the comments, reports The Washington Post.
On Wednesday night, Sen. Sanders proposed an amendment to the budget resolution, which sets Congress’ budget for fiscal year 2017, that would allow pharmacists and prescription dug distributors to purchase lower-cost drugs from Canada and other countries, according to Axios Vitals.
“You know what? Mr. Trump is exactly right,” Sen. Sanders said Wednesday night when introducing the amendment. “Pharma is getting away with murder. Pharma has gotten away with murder for many, many decades.”
While 12 Republicans voted for Sen. Sanders’ amendment, it still failed to pass in the Senate, according to Axios Vitals.
