BD to acquire Bard in $24M deal

Franklin Lakes, N.J.-based Becton, Dickinson and Co. will acquire C. R. Bard — a Murray Hill, N.J.-based medical technology manufacturer, for $24 million in cash and stock.

Through the acquisition, BD — a medical equipment supplier — will expand its portfolio to include vascular, urology, oncology and surgical specialty products.

Both companies’ boards unanimously approved the agreement, and the deal is expected to close in fall 2017.
