Alexion Pharmaceuticals Updates Soliris Recall Information

Chesire, Conn.-based Alexion Pharmaceuticals has requested that hospitals return any unused vials of Soliris Concentrated Solution for Intravenous Infusion.

The announcement from Alexion is an update to a previous voluntary recall of two specific lots of Soliris asking that any unused vials at the distributor level be returned.

The two recalled lots had visible particles in the solution, posing potential immunogenicity and thromboembolic risks, according to the recall.
