AdventHealth, Medline supply center opens

AdventHealth, in partnership with Medline, has opened a new 375,000-square-foot supply facility in Central Florida, according to a Feb. 28 announcement.

The health system's consolidated service center employs 250 and features office and meeting spaces, as well as a distribution center, print shop, courier and mail services, and a mail order pharmacy that serves more than 125,000 patients.

It was designed with supply chain incidents in mind and will "enable a resilient inventory strategy that allows consistent support for operations, as well as access to Medline’s distribution network in case of an emergency," according to the release.

In August 2023, Medline and AdventHealth announced their partnership on the project, with Paul Rathbun, senior executive vice president and chief financial officer for AdventHealth, stating that it "brings together the diverse capabilities of a large national health system and an industry partner to create a more resilient supply chain that allows for better patient outcomes and optimized costs," adding that the partnership also "provides a deep logistics network to ensure resiliency, while also allowing for AdventHealth to own and manage inventory."
