1. Sanofi acquires US vaccines biotech for $650M: 3 things to know
Paris-based Sanofi will buy Protein Sciences, a Meriden, Conn.-based vaccines biotech, for a $650 million upfront payment.  

2. FDA finds rusty equipment at Vista Pharma drug plant
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration on July 5 issued a warning letter to Vista Pharmaceuticals, citing "significant violations of current good manufacturing practice regulations for finished pharmaceuticals." 

3. Zimmer Biomet CEO steps down: 3 things to know
David C. Dvorak on July 11 resigned from his post as president and CEO of Zimmer Biomet.

4.Shire lobbying against GOP's healthcare reform bill
Shire is lobbying against several provisions in the Republican's healthcare reform plan, according to CEO Flemming Ornskov, MD.

5. New Jersey drug execs plead guilty to selling moldy medical supplies
Two former drug executives at a Tinton Falls, N.J.-based cancer drug distribution company on Friday pled guilty to selling medical supplies contaminated with mold.
