4 Latest Medical Device Recalls

The following are the latest medical device recalls compiled on Becker’s Hospital Review over the past two months, starting with the most recent.

1. Wauwatosa, Wis.-based GE Healthcare issued a Class I recall of its infant resuscitation systems because the oxygen and air inlet fittings were reversed during assembly.

2. Research Triangle Park, N.C.-based Teleflex Medical recalled certain lots of its ISIS HVT Tracheal Tube Cuffed with Subglottic Secretion Suction Port due to potential malfunctions that could cause the tracheal tube to kink.

3. Murraysville, Pa.-based Philips Respironics issued a worldwide recall of its Trilogy Ventilators Models 100, 200 and 202 due to a potentially faulty component on the ventilators’ power boards that could cause the ventilator to stop administering breaths.

4. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced a recall on Boulder, Colo.-based Covidien’s Puritan Bennet 840 Series ventilator, saying the ventilator may stop working during use.
