The company recalled its Bair Hugger underbody blankets due to a design flaw that can hinder the product’s ability to heat up during surgery.
3M notified customers of the defect Jan. 23. The company instructed healthcare providers to immediately identify and discard any Bair Hugger underbody blankets involved in the recall.
The FDA classified the recall as Class II, meaning there is a slight chance the affected product could cause serious health problems or death.
