Two men and a woman pried open a door to a secured area around 7:30 a.m. Saturday at Lankenau Medical Center in Wynnewood and took the Olympus colonoscopes, police said. The theft was reported Monday.

Police say it was too early to determine whether the theft was an inside job, but they are investigating all leads.

“In my experience, I would say, and just thinking about it logically, you would think that this would not be something the average person would know what it is and where it is kept,” Detective Sgt. Michael Vice of Lower Merion Township Police told CBS Philadelphia.

Police are asking the public to come forward with any information they may have on the suspects.
