Twelve health systems have been recognized with 2021 healthcare supply chain achievement awards from ECRI, a nonprofit that conducts independent medical device evaluations with labs in North America and Asia Pacific.
The award recognizes health systems for excellence in overall spend management and adopting best practices into their supply chain processes, ECRI said Oct. 6. Winners were selected from the more than 3,000 U.S. hospitals and health systems that are part of its strategic sourcing and supply chain programs.
The 12 health system winners:
- Children’s Hospital Los Angeles
- Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health (Lebanon, N.H.)
- Erlanger Health System (Chattanooga, Tenn.)
- Huntington (Calif.) Hospital
- LifeBridge Health (Baltimore)
- Mount Sinai Medical Center (Miami Beach, Fla.)
- MultiCare Health System (Tacoma, Wash.)
- Northeast Georgia Health System (Gainesville)
- Prisma Health (Greenville, S.C.)
- Steward Health Care System (Dallas)
- UCHealth (Aurora, Colo.)
- University of Miami (Fla.) Health System
"In the midst of a global pandemic that created unprecedented patient safety and supply chain challenges, these twelve healthcare organizations stand out,” Marcus Schabacker, MD, PhD, president and CEO of ECRI, said in a news release. "We congratulate our members for adhering to supply chain best practices that have enabled them to deliver safe, high-quality care."
ECRI said it evaluated the candidates' 2021 spend management and market analytics efforts for capital medical devices, supplies, physician preference items, service contracts and reagents.
