Four hospitals within Des Moines, Iowa-based Mercy Health Network have formed a regional governing board to oversee the strategic direction of the hospitals, according to a system news release.
The new board is comprised of The Mercy Medical Centers in Sioux City, Mason City, Dubuque and Clinton. The regional board is made up entirely of Iowa healthcare and community business leaders from each area served by the respective organizations, and it will work with the local board of each hospital.
Individual boards will retain authority over local operations, while the regional body will focus on broader strategic planning issues and operations, according to the release.
