Walt Cathey. CEO of Covenant Medical Center (Lubbock, Texas). Mr. Cathey oversees 5,200 employees as the CEO of Covenant Medical Center, a nonprofit acute care hospital. He previously served as the hospital’s vice president and then COO before taking the helm. Mr. Cathey played a key role in expanding the hospital’s outpatient services as part of Covenant Health Systems’ $450 million renovation projects, launched in 2015. He also serves as leadership development vice chair of the Texas Hospital Association.
