Where each state ranks in cybersecurity recovery potential — No. 1 is Vermont

Businesses in Vermont have the highest likelihood of recovering from a cyberattack while businesses in Delaware have the lowest, according to a Verizon ranking published Oct. 27.

For its study, researchers examined the percentage of all business bankruptcies in the last year and the number of small businesses in each state. The researchers also looked at the number of data breaches per state with the number of records stolen or lost in each breach, as well as each state's crime type by victim count, which is reported to the FBI.
