Comparably published two lists on Dec. 10 ranking the top 50 large companies with more than 500 employees and the top 50 small to midsize companies with less than 500 employees. The company ranked 50,000 workplaces using roughly 10 million anonymous employee ratings recorded during a one-year period between Nov. 26, 2017, and Nov. 26, 2018.

Employees were told to rank their companies according to more than 50 structured and comprehensive workplace questions across several categories, including compensation, leadership, professional development and others. Answers were awarded a numerical score and compared to companies of similar size across the U.S.

Northside Hospital in Atlanta was ranked the No. 26 company with the best culture across large companies, while Kaiser Permanente was ranked No. 38.
