Forty-five healthcare companies were included on the Wall Street Journal’s inaugural list of the Best Companies for the Future.
The ranking, published June 7, featured Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare and King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services. It was created by Bendable Labs for the WSJ Leadership Institute. It evaluated companies on the S&P 500 as of Dec. 31 on AI readiness, innovation, talent readiness, financial fitness, resilience and agility, using 30 separate indicators based on data from 20 sources.
Health systems, payers and pharmaceutical companies were among the healthcare organizations featured. The list included 500 companies across industries, with Nvidia, Alphabet, Microsoft, Meta Platforms and Cisco Systems taking the top five spots.
