Forbes has recognized 250 healthcare organizations on its inaugural list of America’s Best Employers for Healthcare Professionals, published Sept. 25.

The publication partnered with the market research firm Statista to develop the list, which is based on survey responses from more than 17,000 healthcare and social services professionals from organizations with at least 1,000 U.S. employees. Survey participants assessed their employers based on criteria including wages, working conditions and schedules, growth opportunities and safety.

Below are the top 15 best employers for healthcare workers, as ranked by Forbes.

  2. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (Memphis, Tenn.)
  3. Community Health Network (Indianapolis)

  7. St. Luke’s University Health Network (Bethlehem, Pa.)
  8. FirstHealth of the Carolinas (Pinehurst, N.C.)
  9. Cook Children’s Health Care System (Fort Worth, Texas)

  11. Nationwide Children’s Hospital (Columbus, Ohio)
