Seattle-based University of Washington Medicine’s radiology department and GE HealthCare have launched a strategic research collaboration focused on advancing CT and molecular imaging technologies for cardiology, oncology and theranostics.
The organizations said the collaboration will focus on automating imaging workflows, accelerating clinical translation of imaging technologies and advancing personalized care models for cancer, cardiovascular disease and other conditions, according to a May 21 news release. Research activities will take place at UW Medicine’s department of radiology facilities.
The CT portion of the collaboration will pursue clinical evidence supporting spectral imaging technologies and workflow automation tools. The molecular imaging and theranostics program will focus on AI-enabled imaging software, radiopharmaceuticals and imaging techniques intended to support cancer diagnosis, treatment planning and clinical trial matching.
