UNC Hospitals operates the five-bed UNC Center for Women’s Mood Disorders, which is the nation’s first freestanding unit for women in need of inpatient care for postpartum depression and other perinatal mood disorders. UNC Hospitals also offers women’s health education services — including printed materials and audiovisual resources — through its Women’s Health Information Center, which is open to all women, even those who are not patients at the hospital.
