UCLA Medical Center (Los Angeles). Founded in 1992, the UCLA Breast Center became the Revlon/UCLA Breast Center in 1996 as a one-stop shop for women at risk for breast cancer or those receiving treatment. To stay on the cutting edge of treatment and prevention, the center opened the Gonda/Goldschmied – UCLA Breast Cancer Laboratory to study the molecular signatures of breast cancer and established a biospecimen tissue bank as well as a clinical trial unit to accelerate the application of the lab’s findings. The OB-GYN department at UCLA Medical Center takes a comprehensive approach to patient care, including innovative clinical programs in minimally invasive abdominal and pelvic surgery, uterine-sparing surgery, hysteroscopy, gynecologic oncology, and robotics-assisted surgery. Its Women’s Healthcare Research Program targets women with polycystic ovary syndrome and other androgen-related diseases. In 2017, U.S. News & World Report ranked UCLA’s gynecology program 14th in the nation.
