U of Miami Health names interventional radiology chair

University of Miami Health System has named Stephen Solomon, MD, chair of the Department of Interventional Radiology.

In the role, Dr. Solomon plans to expand interventional radiology as a clinical specialty, focusing on patient care, research and integration with multidisciplinary care teams, according to an Aug. 25 news release. He also plans to strengthen collaboration with Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and expand the department’s use of new technologies.

Dr. Solomon joins U of Miami Health and the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where he served as chief of interventional radiology, held the Enid A. Haupt Endowed Chair in Clinical Investigation and was a professor of radiology at Weill Cornell Medical College.
