Baltimore-based University of Maryland School of Medicine has appointed Tarek Hanna, MD, as chief of the diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine clinical service.
Dr. Hanna will also serve as chair of the school’s department of diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine, and as president for the University of Maryland Diagnostic Imaging Specialists, according to a May 14 news release from the university.
He will step into his new role in September, succeeding interim department Chair William Regine, MD, and co-Chair Bert O’Malley, MD.
Dr. Hanna currently serves as vice chair of diagnostic imaging and division director of emergency and trauma imaging within the department of radiology and imaging sciences at Atlanta-based Emory University School of Medicine.
