Novartis to build $23B radioligand therapy site

Novartis will construct a 46,000-square-foot radioligand therapy manufacturing site in Denton, Texas, as part of its $23 billion U.S. investment.

The facility will be Novartis’ fifth radioligand therapy site in the U.S. and its first in Texas, according to a Feb. 25 news release. Construction is set to begin this year, with operations expected to launch in 2028.

The Denton site will support production of targeted cancer therapies and expand the company’s radioligand therapy manufacturing capacity to meet growing demand. Novartis said proximity to patients and treatment centers is critical because each dose is custom-made and more than 99% are delivered on schedule.

The site will create jobs in bioengineering, advanced manufacturing, quality and operations. It joins existing Novartis manufacturing facilities in New Jersey, Indiana and California, along with a recently announced site in Florida.

In the past 10 months, Novartis has broken ground on four manufacturing and R&D facilities, launched three facility expansions and announced two additional sites across the U.S.
