The FDA has approved an amino acid positron emission tomography drug for brain cancer imaging.

The drug — called Pixclara — differentiates recurrent or progressive glioma from treatment-related tissue changes, according to a Sept. 14 news release from the drugmaker, Telix.

Pixclara is approved for use in adults and pediatric patients 1 month and older, the release said.
