New York City-based Columbia University has appointed Jasnit Makkar, MD, as chief of its division of emergency radiology.
Dr. Makkar joined Columbia’s radiology department in 2016 and previously served as director of the diagnostic radiology residency program from 2021 to 2025, according to a June 25 news release from the university.
He will oversee radiology services across multiple emergency rooms in New York City and Westchester County, including the stroke center at NewYork-Presbyterian Milstein Hospital and the level 1 trauma center at NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital.
