The report said the expansion, recently approved by the hospital’s board of governors, will include construction of a new 120-bed, five-story inpatient tower that will build on the hospital’s five centers of excellence: oncology, surgery, orthopedics, cardiology and obstetrics. Good Samaritan will offer a total of 165 beds after the project is completed.
Construction on the tower is planned to begin later this year or early next year, according to the report. Last year alone, Good Samaritan recorded 7,525 inpatient admissions and 336,948 outpatient admissions.
