York Hospital Partners With Maine's Only Health Insurance CO-OP

York (Maine) Hospital and Maine Community Health Options have established a collaborative partnership, according to a Seacoast report.

MCHO is Maine's only Consumer Operated and Oriented Plan. CO-OPs are nonprofit health insurers, created under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

York Hospital has 79 acute-care beds. President and CEO Jud Knox said the hospital's deal with MCHO will "provide an affordable health insurance option to individuals and small businesses in our community," according to the report.
