Dr. Farzad Mostashari: ICD-10 Conversion Date Will Not Change

While speaking at the HIMSS Media ICD-10 Forum in National Harbor, Md., National Coordinator for Healthcare IT Farzad Mostashari, MD, reiterated that the ICD-10 implementation deadline is here to stay, according to Government Health IT.

He told attendees there are no plans for further delays to the coding set's Oct. 1, 2014, deadline. The original 2013 conversation date has already been pushed back once, largely to allow for a crosswalk to be made between ICD-10 and the Systemized Nomenclature of Medicine Clinical Terms.
