Analysis: 2013 Inpatient Revenue Cycle Management

Hospitals have shown a high level of adoption in 2013 of vendor solutions for inpatient revenue cycle management, particularly in the areas of eligibility and scheduling, according to a report from HIMSS Analytics.

Of the survey respondents, 77 percent said they use a vendor solution to address eligibility, and 66 percent said they leverage a vendor solution for scheduling, according to the survey. Additionally, 51 percent use vendor solutions to address validation, and 59 percent use them concerning medical necessity.
