Blue Cross and Allina sought input from physicians and patients in developing BluePrint, which will have care options including Allina Integrated Medical Network Services, according to a news release. The new health plan will be available as a Blue Cross offering in the Twin Cities metro area starting Jan. 1.
BluePrint seeks to enhance physician-patient relationships and improve patient outcomes and experiences, said Kenneth H. Paulus, president and CEO of Allina Health, in the release.
BluePrint isn’t the first Allina and Blue Cross health plan collaboration. In January 2013, they launched a health coverage option called Blue Choice for large employers. Members enrolled in the ACO-like Blue Choice have access to coordinated care management for chronic conditions.
