The national baseline for flu-related outpatient visits is 2.1 percent. During week 16 of the current flu season, levels fell to 2 percent of outpatient visits. Four influenza-associated pediatrics deaths were reported during the week, bringing the season’s total to 60.
Although there are a few weeks left in the current flu season, at peak incidence, the rates of flu activity fell below those of the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons.
