MetroHealth System is the only facility in Ohio to earn this designation, which recognizes that MetroHealth can provide comprehensive care to a patient diagnosed with Ebola.
“When the Ebola scare occurred last fall, we actively worked to train our staff and educate the public,” said Jennifer Hanrahan, DO, the chair of MetroHealth’s Infection Control Committee. “This designation recognizes that we have the expertise and readiness needed to care for an Ebola patient.”
Additionally, Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals in Cleveland and MetroHealth have all signed an agreement to form a regional coalition for Ebola response, meaning they will work closely together to protect the community and meet the needs of Ebola patients.
