Since the incident occurred Dec. 22, and Ebola’s incubation period is 21 days, the technician seems to be in the clear from developing Ebola virus disease.

In a Jan. 9 press call, Tom Frieden, MD, the director of the CDC, said the agency is conducting an investigation into how the possible exposure could have occurred and that a report on the incident is expected by the end of the month.
