Trinity Health Denies Ties to North Dakota Nursing Home Hep C Outbreak

A nursing home in Minot, N.D., has filed a lawsuit against Minot-based Trinity Health, claiming dozens of people affected by a hepatitis C outbreak may have gotten the virus from services provided by Trinity, according to a KUMV report.

Trinity Health has denied any involvement in the outbreak, which ManorCare claims is tied to Trinity’s podiatry and blood draw services.

Investigations by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the North Dakota state health department have “found absolutely no link between our phlebotomy service and our podiatry services in the spread of hepatitis C,” a Trinity Health spokesman told KUMV.
