The Joint Commission Releases Guide for Patient-Centered Care for LGBT Patients

The Joint Commission has released a new guide aimed at helping hospitals create more welcoming, safe and inclusive environments for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender patients and their families.

The guide, “Advancing Effective Communication, Cultural Competence, and Patient- and Family Centered Care for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender,” features strategies, examples and resources to help hospital provide more patient-centered care to LGBT patients.
