The art of brushing — ensuring clean medical devices to enhance patient safety

Although the healthcare industry has made giant strides in patient safety in recent years, reducing hospital-acquired infections and further improving safety remain top priorities for health organizations across the nation.

During a Dec. 13 webinar sponsored by the Healthmark Industries, Stephen Kovach, director of education at Healthmark Industries, will discuss how hospitals and health systems can minimize the risk of hospital-acquired infections by ensuring their medical instruments are clean using manual cleaning tools such as brushes and wipes.

Mr. Kovach will explain the anatomy of a brush and will offer insight on how to properly brush medical devices, how to select the correct brush for various tasks and how to properly inspect a brush.

Healthmark Industries will offer 1 CEU credit from IAHCSMM and CBSPD for attending this webinar.
