Advanced Dialysis Clinic in Medina, Tenn., was closed by the Tennessee Department of Health’s board overseeing healthcare facilities.
In January, the clinic underwent an inspection in which officials observed several infection control violations. Inspectors found debris on treatment floors while patients were receiving treatments, improper techniques to prevent bacterial exposure at catheter sites and failure to adequately inspect supplies to ensure they were not contaminated, according to the report.
Additionally, the Tennessee Board of Licensing Health Care Facilities indicated nurses did not have the proper training and skills needed to serve dialysis patients, according to the report.
A WBBJ report indicates the clinic was closed Sept. 11.
