Study: 20% of Cancer Patients Switched Providers Due to Dissatisfaction With Care

A study commissioned by the Cancer Treatment Centers of America has found that 20 percent of cancer patients switched healthcare providers due to dissatisfaction with their care, according to a news release.

The study used a sample of 1,000 cancer patients and 1,000 caregivers who received treatment at hospitals across the country. Additional findings include:

  • 25 percent of patients and caregivers were not satisfied with care received.
  • Psychological counseling was rated the largest factor in overall satisfaction.
  • More that two-thirds of respondents said having an individual to coordinate their care was important to them.
