In August, state officials cited EJ Noble Hospital for lab deficiencies, including lack of supplies and staffing to conduct testing, expired supplies and other safety concerns. The deficiency forced the hospital to shut down its laboratory in late September and send patients to nearby hospitals.
State officials have now approved EJ Noble Hospital to reopen some parts of its laboratory services and emergency department, though other healthcare services will still be shut down, including some surgeries. Ronald McDougall, acting Gouverneur mayor, expects the hospital to be fully open sometime in the near future.
