Shands HealthCare in Florida Announces $580M Collaboration Focused on Quality

Florida’s Shands HealthCare and the University of Florida Health Science Center in Gainesville have announced a $580 million, five-year collaboration focused on quality improvement, according to a joint news release from the organizations.

The strategic plan, titled “Forward Together,” aims to achieve quality improvements through focuses in patient care, community involvement and expansion of research and educational missions.

Shands HealthCare is a private, not-for-profit organization affiliated with the University of Florida. The system has seven hospitals, two home-health agencies and more than 80 affiliated UF outpatient practices throughout north central and northeast Florida.
