Burnet city police posted a public health notice on the department’s Facebook page Aug. 3.
Officers found the rabid animal in the 25-bed hospital’s ER just before 6 p.m. Aug. 1. The Texas Department of State Health Services tested the bat and found it tested positive for rabies.
Investigators urged those who may have had physical contact with the bat to contact the police department or the state health department for further assistance.
