As the White House works to steer Robert F. Kennedy Jr. toward politically safer topics ahead of 2026 midterm elections, the HHS secretary said April 8 he plans to launch a health podcast.
Citing concerns about unpopular anti-vaccine rhetoric, the federal government has reportedly hired Medicare chief Chris Klomp as Mr. Kennedy’s deputy. Mr. Klomp is expected to steer HHS toward priorities seen as politically safer, such as affordability and nutrition.
“For decades now, Americans have been told that we should trust the system, but our children are sicker, chronic disease is exploding and the answers we’ve been given aren’t working. Many of us have come to the conclusion that [the] government actually lies to us,” Mr. Kennedy said in a promotion video posted on X. “This podcast is about telling the truth, especially when it’s uncomfortable.”
Podcast guests will include “independent doctors, respected scientists and leaders in medical innovation and research,” he said, adding that “we’re going to follow the evidence wherever it leads.”
“We’re launching a new era of radical transparency in government here at HHS,” Mr. Kennedy said, tying his Make America Healthy Again campaign to the podcast’s mission.
