Hospital.NorthShore University HealthSystem is committed to working for a healthier environment and has taken steps to reduce its environmental footprint. Evanston Hospital’s efforts earned it the Top 25 Environmental Excellence Award and Making Medicine Mercury Free Award from Practice Greenhealth in 2016. The hospital saved more than 300,000 gallons of water in 2015 after implementing a new cooling water management system and the health system in total saved more than 1.2 million gallons.
