Here are three things to know.
1.The Council on Opioid and Prescription Drug Enforcement aims to develop relationships with local, state and federal agencies tasked with enforcing laws and regulations designed to curb opioid addiction and overdoses.
2. The council will meet monthly to discuss trends and pertinent information regarding illicit opioid use across Michigan.
3. The group will also share information with the Michigan Prescription Drug and Opioid Abuse Commission.
“We must ensure all partners are working together effectively if we are going to combat this epidemic and protect all Michiganders,” Mr. Snyder said. “This council will open up the lines of communication and allow for a better use of resources while working to reduce opioid abuse and prevent addiction from occurring in the first place.”
